Collection: Cosmetics

For thousands of years, nomads have used home remedies for personal care and protection against the steppe climate, some of which are derived from the raw materials of their large livestock herds, e.g., sheep fat, horse oil, camel milk. In addition, there are valuable botanical substances collected in the steppes and high mountains, e.g., nettle oil, pine oil, sea buckthorn oil.

Based on this traditional nomadic and local knowledge, a Mongolian cosmetics industry has emerged over the last 15 years or so. Predominantly small manufactories create personal care products for the face, hands, skin, and hair that are virtually unique in the world, using modern methods and the highest quality standards.

These products, some of which are intentionally non-vegan, are ideally suited for consumers interested in cosmetic products made from such natural and sustainable raw materials that nomadic families have trusted for their personal care and well-being since time immemorial.

The processors and manufacturers of cosmetic products, the vast majority of whom are female entrepreneurs, are members of the Mongolian Cosmetics Cluster. Through the cooperation of all stakeholders and the adherence to standards, it ensures transparency and sustainability in supply chains and products.
